The DeepTech Summit 2025 in Benguerir: Africa Redefining the Future Through Artificial Intelligence
From May 8 to 9, 2025, the Mohammed VI Polytechnique University (UM6P) hosted the second edition of the DeepTech Summit in Benguerir, Morocco.
This international event focused on deep technologies and their role in sustainable development across Africa.
More than 5,500 participants from 53 countries attended.
They included startups, investors, researchers, and policymakers.
The summit’s theme was “Redefining Progress: How AI is Transforming Deep Tech Innovation.”
A Pan-African Event with Global Impact
The DeepTech Summit highlighted Africa’s growing influence in the global innovation ecosystem.
Topics like AI in healthcare, agritech, clean energy, and cybersecurity were central to discussions.

Among the key speakers were Jalal Charaf (UM6P), Réneé Cummings (University of Virginia), and Stavros Yannouka (WISE-Qatar Foundation).

The summit featured over 60 sessions.
These included panels, workshops, and startup presentations.
In addition, an Innovation Village showcased prototypes from startups and university labs.
